About Me

My photo
First things first...I love a good bargain! I also love good quality, and this doesn't always go hand-in-hand with the word bargain. Luckily I am an avid shopper, and have been able to get incredible deals on the nicer things in life with just a little extra searching. I'm also a beauty and fashion junkie and my style trends towards classical elegance. Fashion icons are CZ Guest and Audrey Hepburn. I started this blog to share shopping tips, gush over the best products out today, and to learn about the best designer bargains out there from my fellow blogettes. Ciao! Beth

Calypso St. Barth Outlet

I am going on a last minute business trip to NYC tomorrow and have about an hour and a half to kill before the afternoon meeting starts. I am going to try and fit in a quick trip to the Calypso St. Barth outlet in Soho. If you're not familiar with this brand, they make make great tunics & dresses. If you like Tory Burch, you'll probably like this brand...similar cuts and comfort, but less "crazy" prints.

I'll keep you posted if I find any good bargains!

Jack Rogers - The East Coast Staple

These handmade leather thongs have been around since the 1960's and are a staple in my summer wardrobe. It takes only a few days to break them in and they are so comfortable! The best part...they seem to go with everything. The metallic leather thongs are my favorite, especially the platinum color, but I'm contemplating adding the natural cork to my collection this season . The new mini-wedge is also very cute. What are your fave's?

2009 Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale

Lilly Pulitzer is one of my favorite summer brands. The classic shift dresses are very well made and never go out of style. They are always appropriate for Easter Sunday, cocktails on the waterfront, or a comfy option for a day of shopping.

The company headquarters are located outside of Philadelphia, PA and twice a year they hold a warehouse sale at the Valley Forge Convention Center. This year the summer sale is set for June 3-6. I have never gone, but am highly considering! Especially if I can get my hands on any of their great 50th Anniversary Jubilee Collection!

Has anyone gone before? I would love to hear about any prior experiences you may have had.

This is a great retrospective for those that are not familiar with the brand, and those that love the brand may learn something as well. Enjoy!

Best. Eyeshadow. Ever.

I have more make-up than any one woman should ever own in a lifetime. Very rarely do I ever buy the same thing twice, but there are a few exceptions. One of those is Stila Kitten eyeshadow. The shimmery neutral shade with a pop of warmth looks good on everyone. All my friends now wear it and continue to buy it as well.

Imagine my delight when Hautelook had a special Stila sale and I not only got Kitten, but three other popular Stila shades, Major Lash mascara, illuminating tinted moisturizer, lip glaze and convertible color. How much do you think all this cost?

I will happily pay $18 for Kitten because it is worth it, but this kit was a steal. $20 for everything you see listed above!
The sales on Hautelook only last for a few days, but you can still get this great kit on Ulta for $40, and with 20% off one item it's $32 using coupon code 22074.

Hautelook is an invite only sample sale website. If you would like an invite, just shoot me your email and I will send you an invitation.

Deluxe China Pattern on the Cheap

Over the years, I have bought my fair share of 5-piece place settings for various friends as they've leapt from single hood to marriage. I loved browsing through all the patterns, often wondering what I would choose one day for my own registry. Well, flash forward several years, I'm 34 and have yet to meet The One, but have found the pattern of my dreams.Bernardaud's Etoiles Collection is beautiful mix of modern elegance with just a hint of formality. The pale blue trimmed in gold mixed with the burgundy-red star burst makes a perfect contrast that can easily be mixed and matched with other pieces.

This 5 piece setting retails for $335. Not in my budget! You can often find it slightly cheaper on some websites, often around the $270 mark. Not willing to pay this, I resorted to the bargain shoppers best friend...the EBay Saved Search. If there is a particular item you are looking for, this is often the best way to find it at a better price.
Due to the EBay Saved Search I got my first full set for $120. It arrived this week and is even more beautiful in person. The delicate quality is amazing!

I do have a word of warning for this method, it may take patience. This is a rare pattern and I only get email hits every few months. But, even if it takes several years, I'll feel satisfied knowing I got such a beautiful product at a price I could afford!
If you have any other tips on finding great deals on china, crystal or silver, please share!
